Tubing!

This wasn't originally on my bucket list, but it should have been!

When I find something new to try, I add it.

Kenzie wanted to take her friends to the lake for her birthday.

And it just so happened that my old Sunday School class

(The married group) was going to the lake that day!

(I sure do miss you guys!)

And Gary and Ursula were bringing a boat!

What luck!

So Michelle, my neighbor, helped me bring eight girls to Lake Thunderbird.

Thunderbird is otherwise known as "Dirtybird" :)

Thanks Michelle! I couldn't have done it without you!
(This is Michelle)

These days, when the opportunity arises, I jump at the chance to try new things.

So when Jennifer told me to come on, I jumped at the chance!

Loading up! I'm in the white cover-up

Thankfully, I think Gary took it easy on me.

I never flipped! (Unlike Jen! LOL!!!!!)

I was screaming and laughing the entire time!

I could hear Ursula laughing the whole time, too.

I will tell you that I had to take Motrin for the next two days for neck and arm soreness!

But it was worth it!

Like my brother always said,

"Make a memory today!"

And I did just that.

Love you Jimmy.

Tattoo!

I got a tattoo!

No, I didn't get a real one.
I chickened out.
I settled for a Henna Tattoo.

My neighbor has been practicing on all the neighborhood kids.
Kenzie came home with an elaborate tatoo down her leg. It actually looked pretty neat.

This Henna isn't very strong and only lasts about a week or so.
I thought I'd go ahead and have a little fun. Why not? It's summer! :)

This is what it looks like with the dye still on it.

Jordan got one with her favorite Bible verse reference.

Kenzie got her name on her arm.

I'm not sure if I'll ever get a real tatoo.

My friends told me that if I were to really get the word "Faith" on my wrist,

when I'm old and wrinkled, it will squish together and say,

"Fat"

:) Maybe I'll pass on that.

Spray Tan

I had "get a spray tan on my bucket list and just so happened to come across a very nice Mary Kay consultant who was doing a special today. I got a spray tan and a facial for $12.00! What a deal!

This is the spray tent that they had me stand in.

Kenzie wanted to take my picture in my bathing suit inside the tent.

I told her that would be a big NEGATIVE. :)

This is the stuff that they used.

I'm pretty excited about the results.

It's not orange like I thought it might be!

The bad thing is that it only lasts about five days.

I guess it's time to start working on the real deal!

White Water, here we come!

Paid In Full!!!

I became debt free this week.

This was one of my big dreams on my bucket list.
Did it happen the way I wanted it to?
NO.
But...my debts are all paid in full.
No bankruptcy.
No foreclosure.
Paid. In. Full.
Thanking God for his blessings!
He who fears the LORD has a secure fortress,
and for his children it will be a refuge.

Day Zero- B-Day!!!!!! My life begins today!

I honestly had the best birthday of my life today.

This sign was on my classroom door when I arrived.

And this food was inside my room.

The kids had decorated for me.

And they forced me to wear this all day!

After school, my parents took
us out for dinner.
(Thanks for the cake!)

This is my dad.

This is my mom.

We ate at Johnny Carrino's.

When I got home, my house was decorated.
This was the garage sign.

Someone is VERY NICE.

This made me feel very special!

Next, I attended AWANA BIKE NIGHT.

Thanks, Kevin and Kathy,
for letting me crash the party!

Steph!

I had the time of my life!
I rode bikes for two hours.
I must have been on 20 or more bikes.
The most awesome end to my day was when I got home.
My kids had all made me gifts.
My girls both wrote and sang songs for me!
They put so much thought into their cards.
It made me cry.

I made it to 40! Thanks for watching my journey.
This blog will now be turning into a
BUCKET LIST.

Day 1: Crusaders Care!

Today was a good day.

Our school blessed the city

of Midwest City.

I worked with the fourth graders.

I have never painted parking spaces before.

Today, we helped paint 800 of them!

And we had a lot of fun!

I'm not sure if the parking lot had

more paint on it or the kids!

Or me for that matter!

I honestly wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else.

And for my last night of being in my thirties,
I met my friend Marla for coffee
at Starbucks!
Perfect ending to a perfect day.

Hello 40, here I come!

Day 2- The Mile

I ran a mile today.

Without Stopping.

I came home with the biggest smile on my face.

I can't describe the excitement I felt.

My kids, who have to run a mile in PE every year in elementary school were shocked that this is something I have never accomplished in my entire life until now.

Hey, at least I did it before I turned 40!
1 Corinthians 9:24
In a race all the runners run.
But only one gets the prize.
You know that, don't you?
So run in a way that will get you the prize.
